Hello world!
This is my first blog posting. Ever. Some things I’m currently interested in and will post on are: the consumerization of healthcare, disrupting healthcare with mobile technology, wearable electronics, sensors, start-up gossip and war stories, and ideas for hacking life. Posts on funky linguistic phenomena, language learning, and accent reduction to be sprinkled in as well. For now, here are my notes from my first Bing (yes…) search for “Top 10 Blogging Tips” Here’s a conflation of what I found:
Top 10 Blogging Tips from a Top 10 list of Top 10 Blogging Tips:
- Be helpful
- Spend time making engaging, catchy headlines.
- Comment on other people’s posts; include a clickable signature; use http://www.mylivesignature.com
- Promote offline (business cards, etc.)
- Make it easy for people to find out about you; about pages are among the most consistently viewed pages.
- Write at least five major “foundational” postings (~500 words) and submit to GoArticles.com and EzineArticles.com, blogcarnival.com (and keep writing them every other week or so)
- Register on blog directories such as technorati.com, blogtopsites.com, and others at “blog directories” (on Google)
- Be yourself and be consistent
- Make it easy to read: use an eye-friendly background, break up large chunks of text, insert bolded bullet points to break up text, don’t make users scroll down
